During a routine inspection
People were protected in the event of an emergency because the appropriate medications were kept and staff received first aid training. Staff were aware of their responsibility to safeguard children and vulnerable adults and there were policies and procedures in place to support staff in this.
People were treated in a clean and hygienic environment and checks were undertaken regularly to ensure that procedures continued to meet with the requirement of the Health Technical Memorandum 01-05. This is the guidance that all dentists must follow to ensure their practice is safe and minimises the risk of cross infection.
There were procedures in place to monitor the quality of the service and this included gathering feedback from people and managing complaints.
