During a routine inspection
The service had an organisational policy and procedure for the protection of vulnerable adults and children known as safeguarding. We saw copies of these policies were readily available for staff and saw staff had signed to show they had read them.
Patients we spoke with made the following comments about the cleanliness of the service; 'very good' and 'it's clean as a whistle'. During our visit we found all areas of the location were clean and tidy.
We were told new staff undertake a period of induction. We saw the provider's induction programme for receptionists and dental nurses. The induction programme clearly outlined the subjects to be covered over a four week period.
We saw maintenance was regularly carried out on the various equipment used at the service such as portable appliance testing and the autoclaves which were used to decontaminate the equipment used by the practice.
