During a routine inspection

We spoke with four people who used the service and they said that they were given appropriate information about the service and their treatment. They were all dissatisfied with having to wait up to nine weeks to see the dentist, but once seen, said their problems were diagnosed and treated appropriately. It was verified by staff at the prison that the nine week waiting time was due to refurbishment being undertaken to the treatment room. One person said that staff were 'kind' and resolved his dental problem.

The people we spoke with told us that they gave their consent to be treated by the dentist and were satisfied with the quality of the care and treatment they received.
