During a routine inspection
they were asked to give consent to treatment before it started, and were asked at the end of their treatment whether they were satisfied with the results.
Typical comments from patients included,
"I'm very happy with the treatment at the Smile Centre."
"Staff are very, very nice."
The reception staff and dental nurses are "fine, they really were good."
"Treatment has always been to my entire satisfaction."
We checked that patients were given good information about treatment choices. We were satisfied patients received good verbal, written and visual information to help them understand their treatment options.
We looked at cleanliness and infection control. We were satisfied the practice was clean and staff undertook appropriate infection control measures. Patients told us they experienced the practice and treatment rooms as clean.
We looked at staffing. We were satisfied the practice employed staff who had the qualifications and skills to provide dental treatment to patients.
We looked at quality assurance. The practice had systems in place to check patient satisfaction with their treatment.
