During a routine inspection
Care and treatment was planned and delivered in a way that was intended to ensure people’s safety and welfare. The dentist was able to explain initial patient consultation and steps taken to help ensure that treatment was patient centred. This included a medical history, review of treatment options, explaining fees and obtaining patient consent at each stage.
None of the four patients we spoke with expressed concern about the safety of the environment where care and treatment was delivered. One patient described the dentist as, ”caring - a very nice man.”
We saw that the provider’s waiting area and treatment room were clean and clutter free. We spoke with four patients who were positive about the cleanliness of the treatment room and overall environment. One patient told us, "the practice is very clean, very nice" whilst another patient observed that they had “no issues” regarding the practice environment and level of cleanliness.
The provider told us that patient consent forms were obtained for new courses of treatment. We were also told that patient medical history questionnaires were updated at each visit, as necessary. This meant that the provider stored records required to protect the safety and wellbeing of patients.
