Our view of the service
We carried out this on-site announced assessment on 20 August 2024. We found the practice had met regulations. The practice had systems to manage risks, recruitment procedures reflected current legislation and infection control procedures followed published guidance. Patients’ care and treatment was provided in line with current guidance and they were treated with dignity and respect. At the time of our assessment, patients could access care, support and treatment when required. There was effective leadership and a culture of continuous improvement. The practice is in Hereford and provides private dental care and treatment for adults and children. At the time of our assessment, the dental team included 4 dentists, 6 dental nurses, 1 trainee dental nurse, 2 dental hygienists, 1 dental therapist, 2 practice managers and 1 receptionist. The practice had 4 treatment rooms. During the assessment we spoke with 1 dentist, 1 dental nurse, 1 practice manager and the receptionist.
People's experience of this service
Two weeks before and during our visit we asked the practice to encourage patients to share their views of the service with us. We received 19 responses. These were wholly positive. Comments included “I have been very pleased with the ease of booking new appointments, frequency at which they are offered, and the advice and options given regarding signing up for the care plan. Overall I have been very impressed with the standard of care provided and would definitely recommend the practice....” The practice shared patient feedback with the team. We were told this was reviewed and where suggestions had been made, appropriate action would be taken. Staff gathered feedback from patients, the public and external partners and demonstrated a commitment to acting on feedback. Patients commented positively about the standards of cleanliness.
