During a routine inspection
People told us that they were treated with respect and were always involved in making decisions about their care and treatment. One person said 'This is an excellent dentist, they treat me with the utmost respect. The dentist always goes at my pace and talks me through options and charges'. Another person said 'They have been brilliant with me. The dentist always remembers me, I feel involved in the whole process. They always treat me with respect and the staff are well trained and professional'.
Patients were asked about their medical history and we saw individualised clinical notes detailing assessment, risk assessment, examination and treatment planning.
Patients told us they were given information about treatment options so they were able make informed decisions about their treatment and dental care.
We saw that emergency equipment was available and readily accessible to staff. Staff had received training for cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and we saw certificates that confirmed this.
People who used the service told us that they felt safe and had confidence in the practice and in the competence and professionalism of staff. Staff were familiar with the service's safeguarding procedures so they knew what to do if there was any evidence or suspicion of abuse.
