During a routine inspection
All of the patients we spoke with told us they were very happy with the dental treatment they received. One patient said 'I'm very, very happy with the standard of care here'. The patients we spoke with said they had sufficient information about their treatment and were aware of the costs of treatment. Patients commented that it was easy to make an appointment for a time that suited them.
The patients we spoke with told us that their treatment was explained to them every time they attended. One patient told us 'There is an explanation of treatment at the time and I knew how long it (the treatment) would last'.
The practice operated hygiene and decontamination processes that followed the current Department of Health (DoH) guidance. The risks of cross infection were therefore, minimised. All the patients we spoke with said they found the practice to be very clean. A patient told us 'Cleanliness is excellent. It always looks scrupulously clean'.
Staff we spoke with told us they felt well supported. We saw evidence of staff being given time off to attend professional update courses.
The practice had systems in place to receive and act on patient feedback and carried out audits to monitor clinical quality.
