During a routine inspection
People told us they were fully involved in the planning of their treatment. Dentists discussed different options available with people and enabled them to make informed decisions about their care. One patient told us, "Every step of my treatment is clearly explained to me". Dentists reviewed and updated care plans at the beginning of each visit. We saw that the service delivered care in line with patients' treatment plans. One patient told us, "I look forward to coming here, I know they will save my teeth".
We saw that St Anne's dental practice had a policy and procedures in place for safeguarding children and adults at risk. The staff knew where to access this information if they suspected abuse.
We saw that the service maintained appropriate standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the premises. Staff told us, "We observe a strict routine of decontamination after each single treatment". One person who used the service told us, "The premises are always clean and spotless, very smart and pleasant".
Audits were carried out to identify how the service could improve. We found that the service had an effective incident reporting system and a complaint policy with clear procedures.
