During a routine inspection
One person told us: "I enjoy coming here because everyone is so friendly." Another person said "The dentist is very good and really sets you at ease, I wouldn't go anywhere else."
One member of staff told us "It's great working as part of a small team we know each other well." We saw how staff spoke with people and their friendly approach made people feel at ease.
When we looked at people's records we found they were given a treatment plan and were able to make choices around the type of treatment they wanted. People were given time to make decisions about which treatment they received. One person told us they were able to talk to the dentist about their choices and felt they were given enough information to make a choice.
We saw the surgery was clean and tidy, a comment we heard from people and saw in feedback forms. The practice had an established decontamination room and procedures for maintaining and monitoring hygiene.
Staff received appropriate checks before commencing employment. They undertook regular training and updates and were suitably qualified to deal with medical emergencies.
We found the dentist sought the opinion of people who used the service and responded to comments appropriately.
