We carried out this on-site announced assessment on 22 July 2024. We found the practice had met regulations. The practice had systems to manage risks although some improvements were required. Recruitment procedures reflected current legislation. Infection control procedures followed published guidance. Patients’ care and treatment was provided in line with current guidance and patients were treated with dignity and respect. At the time of our assessment, patients could access care, support and treatment when required. There was effective leadership and a culture of continuous improvement. The practice is in Wellesbourne, Warwickshire and provides NHS and private dental care and treatment for adults and children. At the time of our assessment, the dental team included 6 dentists, 9 dental nurses, including 2 trainee dental nurses, 3 dual qualified dental hygiene therapists, a practice manager, and 2 receptionists – dental nurses also work on reception as required. Other management staff including a marketing manager, purchasing manager, compliance and human resources manager who are based at the sister practice in Stratford upon Avon but work as needed between the 2 locations. The practice had 5 treatment rooms. During the assessment we spoke with 2 dentists including the provider, 2 dental nurses including 1 trainee, 1 dental hygiene/therapist, 1 receptionist and the compliance manager. The practice manager, provider and purchasing manager attended for part of the assessment.
