Governance, management and sustainability
We found staff to be open and willing to provide written feedback. The provider demonstrated a transparent and open culture in relation to people’s safety. When we highlighted the concerns to the provider, they immediately took action to review the information and provide evidence to support or counter the claims being made against them. Staff told us there was strong emphasis on people’s safety and continually striving to improve. Some staff told us in feedback they would not recommend changing anything in the way the practice was managed, however, some staff commented training and staffing levels could be improved. Feedback from staff was obtained through meetings, surveys, and informal discussions. Staff told us in feedback they were encouraged to offer suggestions for improvements to the service, and most they said these were listened to and acted upon, where appropriate. Overall, staff stated they felt respected, supported and valued, they worked with a very friendly and supportive team. Some staff commented they did not feel supported and feel, sometimes management can be disconnected from the team.
Where the information of concern had led to the off-site assessment, areas which required a response or improvement were acted on immediately by leaders. The information and evidence sent into us for review was clear and well documented. The practice responded to our concerns appropriately. As a result of the provider review into the concerns shared by us, practice staff had discussed outcomes to share learning and improve the service.
