Barclay Services is a supported living service which provides personal care and support to autistic people, people with learning disabilities and mental health conditions who were living in their own flats within a shared building. At the time of the assessment the service supported 9 people. We expect health and social care providers to guarantee people with a learning disability and autistic people respect, equality, dignity, choices and independence and good access to local communities that most people take for granted. ‘Right support, right care, right culture’ is the guidance CQC follows to make assessments and judgements about services supporting people with a learning disability and autistic people and providers must have regard to it. We carried out this assessment between 27 February 2024 and 9 April 2024. We looked at the following areas as part of the assessment, safe and effective staffing, involving people to manage risks, safeguarding, learning culture, medicines optimisation, assessing needs, consent to care and treatment, freedom to speak up and governance, management and sustainability. During this assessment, we identified 2 breaches of regulation in respect of medicine practices, and with the overall governance of the service.
