During a routine inspection
People had thorough, detailed care and treatment plans relating to all aspects of their care needs. They contained a good level of information to ensure their care needs were met. We spoke with four people and they told us they were happy with the care and treatment they received. On person told us, 'In general I am happy with the practice.' Another person told us, 'The Dentist is really good, I am a big fan.'
We observed people were cared for in a clean, hygienic environment. There were effective systems in place to reduce the risk and spread of infection. The people we spoke with told us they had no concerns with the cleanliness of the practice. One person told us, 'It is always clean and they put on fresh gloves. The Nurse is always wiping down.'
People were cared for, or supported by, suitably qualified, skilled and experienced staff. Appropriate checks had been undertaken before staff began work. The staff files demonstrated that members of staff had undergone continuous professional development as required by their professional body. This meant staff kept up to date with their clinical practice.
There were quality monitoring programmes in place, which included people giving feedback about their care and treatment, identified risks and areas for improvement.
