During a routine inspection
Broomwell HealthWatch had conducted surveys of users of the ECG interpretation service. Nurses had commented:
'I was very impressed with the system and found it worked very well for both patient and clinician.'
'I found the process of receiving results and relaying the patient the initial findings and then informing the GP very straightforward.'
'The patients were relieved to have ECG service and not having to wait for results.'
The survey also recorded that 94% of patients felt happy with the information and advice provided, and 90% were satisfied with the overall experience.
We found that Broomwell HealthWatch provided ECG interpretations with a high level of accuracy. We found that the provider had systems to recruit expert staff and to maintain their skills.
The provider had good quality assurance arrangements in place, which ensured good outcomes for people using the service.
