We conducted this inspection over a number days to facilitate a site visit and a visit to the organisation's head office to look at centrally held records. We also arranged additional time to speak to staff. People we spoke with told us they liked living at the home. They said that they were involved in the meetings and had access to other agencies.
We found the provider had taken reasonable steps to identify the possibility of abuse and prevent abuse from happening.
We found the home to be clean, tidy and free from any offensive odours but there were some shortfalls in the environment which impacted on people's safety.
We found that the service worked well with other agencies and people who used the service were supported to access health care appointments.
We found there may not be enough qualified, skilled and experienced staff to meet people's needs. People who used the service told us that they liked the permanent staff but that they received an inconsistent staff group.
We found that arrangements were in place to ensure staff would receive appropriate professional development.
We found that there was a comprehensive system in place to monitor the quality of the service. There was evidence that learning from incidents took place.
