During a routine inspection
We found that a patient's consent was obtained before care was given. This was done verbally or in writing. Patients we spoke with confirmed that their consent was sought in relation to their care.
Patients told us that the practice was clean, tidy and protected them from the risk of infection. We found that the practice had robust practices in place for cleaning and decontamination of the environment and instruments. The practice kept thorough records of these practices.
We found that staff had received appropriate support, training and professional development. The dentist and dental nurses were registered with the General Dental Council and had completed appropriate professional development to maintain these registrations. However, some training required updating and had been scheduled for August 2013.
