During a routine inspection
People receiving podiatry told us 'Very good, very gentle, very kind. Any concerns and you can ring and they will fit you in' and 'I definitely have confidence in the podiatrist.' People using the weight management service told us "The service I have received has been excellent. If it wasn't for the groups' and one to one sessions, I would not be where I am now" and "They (the team) have changed my life."
We saw that people had received detailed, 'whole person' assessments including medical and relevant social history. Further medical information was sought as and when required. People were fully informed about the treatment options available, risks associated with their condition and what programme of care and treatment was recommended. People's views were listened to but risks from their conditions were made clear to them. Information was available to people on how to improve their health and well-being.
There were well defined and effective ways in which practitioners worked in cooperation with other health care professionals. People benefited from a multidisciplinary approach to their care.
Staff recruitment was robust and kept people safe.
Records management arrangements protected people against unsafe or inappropriate care and treatment.

Comments from patients included: 'My treatment plan was explained fully by staff and treatment was given successfully'; 'Everything was explained to me so I understood what was wrong' and 'I felt reassured by staff.'
Patients confirmed that they felt safe and supported by staff at the MIU and had no concerns about the ability of staff to respond to safeguarding concerns. Comments included: 'I felt safe and would have no worries raising concerns' and 'I have been here before, I have no concerns.'
Patients we spoke with said that staff were supportive and helpful.
Patients who used the service, their representatives and staff were asked for their views about their care and treatment and they were acted on.
