During a routine inspection
They had choice about a range of daily activities and enjoyed the outings to the local town. People were happy with their rooms and liked that they could come and go when they wanted. One person who used the service told us 'I feel very safe here with the staff and trust them'.
A number of people were not able to tell us directly about their experiences. However, we observed that they were relaxed and they interacted positively in different ways with the staff. For example, people were sorting out jewellery, talking and singing together in the dining room and people enjoyed the gentle way staff were assisting them to eat their lunch.
Middleton Manor had all the necessary policy and procedures, quality assurance and monitoring systems in place for the protection of people who used the service. However, the maintenance of people's records needed some improvement. Staff carried out their caring responsibilities well and people and their families were involved in their care arrangements and in volunteering in the home.
