St Martins is a ‘care home’ providing personal care and support to older people and people living with dementia. At the time of the inspection, the service was supporting 15 people with their personal care needs. St Martins was last rated requires improvement (published 14 July 2023). The report was published following CQC’s old inspection approach using key lines of enquiry (KLOEs), prompts and ratings characteristics. This assessment has been completed following the Care Quality Commission (CQC) new approach to assessment; Single Assessment Framework (SAF). We carried out our on-site assessment on 29 May 2024 to follow up on actions we had told the provider to take following the last inspection. This was an unannounced assessment, which means the provider was not told an assessment was going to be starting beforehand. We assessed a total of 21 quality statements from the safe, effective and well-led key questions and found areas of good practice. The scores for these areas have been combined with scores based on the key question ratings from the last inspection. During this assessment, improvements had been made across the service and renovations completed to the home which ensured people were safe living at St Martins. The provider was no longer in breach of regulation.
