During a routine inspection
People told us that they were happy with the service being provided at Ash Tree. One person told us: 'The staff are nice and friendly.' They also told us: 'We choose what we want to eat and they cook it for us.'
Throughout our visit, people were supported to be as independent as possible and were encouraged to do as much for themselves as they could. When help and support was needed, we saw the staff providing this, in an open and relaxed manner.
People were encouraged and supported to be involved in community activities. On our first visit to the service, one person was supported to attend a local day centre and two other people were supported to attend the local GP surgery. On the second day of our visit, five of the six people using the service were supported on a day trip to Water Meade Park.
Care plans and person centred plans had been developed for those using the service. The person centred plans seen were comprehensive and gave the reader a really good picture of the individual, their likes and dislikes and their strengths and abilities and their aims and goals for the future.
