During a routine inspection
At the time of this inspection five people were supported by Affinity Trust, four of whom received twenty-four hour care in their own home.
Due to people's complex needs we were unable to speak directly over the telephone with them. However, we telephoned a relative or representative of each person supported by Affinity Trust and were able to speak with one of them about the support provided. They told us that they were happy with the agency. Their comments included, "[My relative] is looked after by people that know them well" and "I have no worries or concerns at all about them [Affinity Trust]. I think the care given is very good."
We found that people's care and support needs were assessed and each person had a written support plan that set out their identified needs and the actions required of staff to meet these.
We found that suitable arrangements were in place to ensure people were safeguarded against the risk of abuse and their rights were upheld.
We found that arrangements were in place to provide staff with some support and supervision. Staff were being provided with relevant training to maintain and update their skills and knowledge so that people's needs were met by competent staff.
We found that some procedures were in place to audit and monitor systems within the agency.
