Kindness, compassion and dignity

Regulations met

Patients we spoke with and feedback we received both during the assessment and before was wholly positive. Patient feedback provided a positive view of the dental team and care provided by the practice. Patient comments included that staff were welcoming and attentive, acted with integrity and showed compassion. “Each visit has been a positive experience. The hygienists are thorough yet gentle and they always provide helpful tips for maintaining dental health at home”. “The dentist demonstrates a calm and professional level of care during our appointments, taking time to explain any work being carried out and likely options for any further treatment. During my consultations, the dentist has always ensured that I am relaxed and at ease”. “My family and I have been coming here for years. The dentist is calm and professional and always makes me feel comfortable. The surgery is always clean. I would highly recommend”. Patients said staff were professional, courteous, and considerate. We were told, “Reception is highly organised, making the experience very easy. I have been going there for 5 years for check-ups and hygiene cleans, to date their services have been top quality and through their advice my dental health has improved. Staff are friendly and I cannot recommend them highly enough to anyone. Keep up the great work!”. Patients felt they were treated as individuals, and their personal and cultural needs were respected. Comments included, ”As someone who has for many years had a real fear of visiting the dentist, I am so pleased that I can now attend appointments with confidence that the experience will be fine. This is testament to everyone I see at Toothshine; from start to finish I feel welcomed and valued”. We were provided with a patient survey; we noted results and feedback was wholly positive. We also noted over 25 thank you cards were proudly displayed in the reception area, thanking all the staff for their care and treatment.

Staff were aware of their responsibility to respect people’s diversity and human rights. Staff were aware of the importance of privacy and confidentiality. Patients were offered a private area to speak confidentially should they need. Staff felt respected, valued and supported in their roles. Leaders and staff described how the wellbeing of staff was supported.
