During a routine inspection
During our inspection we spoke with three people who use the service and two relatives. People expressed their complete satisfaction with the service. For example, one person told us they were 'impressed' with the care they received and another said they had received a 'brilliant experience'. None of the people we spoke with had any negative feedback and all of them said they would recommend the service to family and friends.
We saw the provider had policies and procedures in place to safeguard people from neglect or abuse. We spoke with the registered manager and surgeon who were aware of multi-agency procedures and knew who to contact in the local authority if they had concerns.
Appropriate checks were undertaken before staff began work. We looked at two employee files. Staff recruitment records we looked at showed proper procedures had been followed.
People who use the service, their representatives and staff were asked for their views about their care and treatment and they were acted on. We saw evidence of audits and surveys carried out to monitor the quality of care provided to people who use the service.
