Our view of the service
We assessed this service due to concerns received about the management of people’s medicines, safeguarding and food safety. We looked at 3 quality statements during this assessment. The service supported people safely, and we found people’s medicines were managed well. There was a strong leadership team who led by example to create a person-centred culture, where people achieved good outcomes. The provider went above and beyond to capture feedback from people who could not speak with them.
People's experience of this service
We assessed this service under the Care Quality Commission ‘Right Support, Right Care, Right Culture’ guidance. We expect health and social care providers to guarantee people with a learning disability and autistic people respect, equality, dignity, choices and independence and good access to local communities that most people take for granted. 'Right support, right care, right culture' is the guidance CQC follows to make assessments and judgements about services supporting people with a learning disability and autistic people and providers must have regard to it. Staff promoted people's independence and supported their access to the local community. People were supported to have maximum choice and control of their lives and staff supported them in the least restrictive way possible and in their best interests; the policies and systems in the service supported this practice. People received kind and compassionate care and were supported in a person-centred way. There was a strong management team which created a person-centred culture. We saw evidence that people achieved good outcomes. People told us they felt safe, and we observed staff supporting people safely. People were happy living at the service and knew who to speak to if they had any concerns.
