During a routine inspection
People told us that they were treated with respect and were always involved in making decisions about their care and treatment. One person said, 'I am very happy with the service I have received at this dentist, overall they are excellent'. Another person who also described the service as excellent said, 'I have been coming to this dentist for a short while and have already benefited from a course of treatment, the dentist goes that extra mile, they put me at ease and are very good at explaining options, charges and give good advice on oral hygiene'.
Patients were asked about their medical history and we saw individualised clinical notes detailing assessment, risk assessment, examination and treatment planning.
Patients told us they were given information about treatment options so they were able make informed decisions about their treatment and dental care.
We saw that emergency equipment was available and readily accessible to staff who had received training for cardio-pulmonary resuscitation and knew what to do in the event of an emergency.
People who used the service told us that they felt safe and had confidence in the competence and professionalism of staff. Staff were familiar with the services' safeguarding procedures so they knew what to do if there was any evidence or suspicion of abuse.
