Governance, management and sustainability

Score: 3

Staff were positive about the service. Staff told us the culture within the service was positive and they were supportive when needed. Staff also informed they knew the tasks to be completed and training was provided regularly.

We saw evidence that the service carried out a range of audits covering different areas such as on medicines and care plans. A monthly operations audit was completed. The audit included staffing, training needs, incidents, care punctuality and medicine management. This ensured management had oversight of the running of the service. Spot checks were also carried out to check staff competency when supporting people. Comment from a professional included, ‘They are so gentle and kind, going that little bit extra.’ Surveys had also been completed for people and staff. The results were analysed and action taken where required to ensure there was a culture of continuous improvement. Results were mostly positive. A relative told us, “I am very pleased with the agency, hence why I have used them for about 3 years. I would definitely recommend them to other people.”
