Our view of the service
Date of assessment: 10 July to 16 July 2024. Sudbury and Alperton Medical Centre provides primary care services from 2 sites: 267 Ealing Road, Wembley HA0 1EU and a branch surgery at 228 Watford Road, Harrow HA1 3TY. There were approximately 7,900 people registered with the service at the time of our assessment who can access the service at either site. We conducted this assessment to follow-up on a previous breach of regulations and covered the key questions of safe, responsive and well-led. We also covered 2 quality statements from the effective key question and have combined the scores for these areas with the scores from the last inspection for the quality statements areas we did not assess this time. At this assessment, we found the practice had systems and processes in place to provide safe, effective and responsive care although we identified a continuing risk around infection prevention and control. Accessibility had improved since our previous inspection. Staff were positive about the quality of the service. However, we found there was scope to improve internal communication and team working.
People's experience of this service
We spoke with a member of the patient participation group who was positive about the practice and recent improvements. We did not speak with other people as part of the assessment although we reviewed other sources of patient feedback. The National GP Patient Survey 2024 showed that patient satisfaction with access had improved since our previous inspection when this had been identified as an area of concern.
