During a routine inspection
We carried out a comprehensive inspection at Cropredy Surgery on 27 September 2019. The provider was previously a partnership and became a single handed GP in September 2018. Therefore the practice registered as an individual with CQC and required an inspection within 12 months. The services, staff and patient population remain very similar to the previous provider. We have rated the service Good.
We based our judgement of the quality of care at this service on a combination of:
- Information provided to us by the practice.
- Information from our ongoing monitoring of data
Our key findings were:
- There were systems to learn and improve from complaints and incidents.
- The practice undertook quality improvement initiatives to ensure improvements to care were implemented where necessary.
- Patients had timely access to care
- Staff were caring and responsive to patients’ needs.
- Patient feedback was overwhelmingly positive.
We found areas where the provider should consider improvements:
- Complete the fire risk assessment action plan
- Continue to identify and reduce exception reporting where this is out of line with national averages.
- Review monitoring of staff training
Details of our findings and the evidence supporting our ratings are set out in the evidence tables.
