Dr Ionita is a doctor-led primary care service that specialises in preventative advice/treatment and lifestyle improvements. The service is located on the third floor of 10 Harley Street, London, W1G 9PF and has one consulting room. The service primarily provides preventative treatments and advice, these can include extended health checks, food intolerance tests and stress tests for adults and does not treat children under 18.

The service is contactable 24 hours and seven days a week for home visits and in the office on Wednesdays from 1:30pm to 6pm.

How we inspected this service

We undertook a comprehensive inspection of Dr Ionita on 20 June 2019 under Section 60 of the Health and Social Care Act 2008 as part of our regulatory functions. The practice was rated as requires improvement for providing safe services and good overall. We undertook a follow up desk-based focused inspection of Dr Ionita on 7 September 2020. This inspection was carried out to review in detail the actions taken by the practice to improve the quality of care and to confirm that the practice was now meeting legal requirements.

We carried out an announced comprehensive inspection at Dr Ionita on 20 June 2019. The overall rating for the service was good, the service was rated requires improvement for providing Safe services. This inspection was a desk-based review carried out on 7 September 2020 to confirm that the practice had carried out their plan to meet the legal requirements in relation to the breaches in regulations that we identified in our previous inspection on 20 June 2019. This report covers our findings in relation to those requirements and additional improvements made since our last inspection.

Dr Ionita is a doctor-led primary care service that specialises in preventative advice/treatment and lifestyle improvements.

Dr Ionita is the registered manager. A registered manager is a person who is registered with the Care Quality Commission to manage the service. Like registered providers, they are ‘registered persons’. Registered persons have legal responsibility for meeting the requirements in the Health and Social Care Act 2008 and associated Regulations about how the service is run.

We are mindful of the impact of COVID-19 pandemic on our regulatory function. We will continue to discharge our regulatory enforcement functions required to keep people safe and to hold providers to account where it is necessary for us to do so.

Our key findings were :

• The provider was now carrying some emergency medicines and had risk assessed the ones not carried.
• The provider now had access to emergency equipment.
• The provider had completed fire training.
• The provider had assurances that the carpeted consultation room was being cleaned regularly and effectively.
