Kindness, compassion and dignity

Regulations met

Patient feedback provided a positive view of the dental team and care provided by the practice. Patient comments included that staff were welcoming and attentive, acted with integrity, and showed compassion.

Patients said staff were professional, courteous, and considerate.

We were provided with a patient survey. Comments included “I am a very nervous patient. I visited today for a clean (…) she was very patient, gentle and understanding”, “I’ve been a patient here for a couple of years (…). My treatment and the advice they have given me has been excellent, I feel very lucky to be in their care and would heartily recommend”, “Good patient care and attention given”, “Did what was needed in a friendly competent manner”.

The practice carried out regular patient surveys and encouraged online reviews.

People received care from staff who were aware of their responsibility to respect people’s diversity and human rights, and of the importance of privacy and confidentiality.

Staff felt respected, valued and supported in their roles, and their wellbeing was supported. For example, staff could access wellbeing advice helplines and resources.

Staff feedback was obtained through meetings, group-wide surveys, and informal discussions. They were encouraged to offer suggestions for improvements to the service, and they said these were listened to and acted upon, where appropriate. For example, an additional receptionist was employed when staff identified the need for additional support, given the size of the practice.
