Well-led
The registered manager met with us in an on-line meeting on 20 February 2024 having previously provided specific information to CQC. The staff team were stable and they were supported to meet people’s needs. Staff training and support were regularly reviewed. There were good audit systems and processes in place to give the registered manager effective oversight of the service provided. For example, all accidents and incidents were reported, recorded and actions were taken to help reduce the risk of reoccurrence. People, their relatives, staff and external healthcare professionals were asked for their views and experiences of the service provided by Braemar House.

Governance, management and sustainability
The registered manager audited all aspects of the service provided. For example, staff training, infection control and health and safety. Any actions needed were taken in a timely manner to further improve the service.
An external healthcare professional responded to a survey with, “The residents here live rich, full and happy lives. The staff speak to the residents respectfully and clearly listen to their wishes.” Relatives responded, "We are involved in discussions on the care of (Person’s name) and are happy with our involvement” and “Very, very happy.” Staff responses to a recent survey were also positive, stating they enjoyed working with the people they cared for and their colleagues.
