This was the first inspection of this service which had operated since March 2013. There was one person present during the inspection and they told us about their experiences of the care and support they had received. The person said, 'I am really happy living here. I like the house and the staff have given me good support.' We saw relationships between the staff member present and the person were good and there was a relaxed atmosphere. The person told us staff respected their wishes and they were encouraged to be independent.
The person's needs were assessed and care and treatment delivered in line with their individual care plan. We saw from records staff had detailed information about the person and they were consulted about how care was provided.
The person lived in a home that was comfortable and well maintained. The person was encouraged to make the house their home.
Staff training was not effectively organised and provided. This meant there was a risk staff did not always have the skills they needed to provide effective care and support.
The person was consulted about the operation of the service. Systems were in place to check and monitor the quality of the service and these were being further developed.
