During a routine inspection

We observed four consultations and spoke with one person, along with two members of staff, the manager and area manager during our inspection. The practice had opened under the new provider in April 2013 with all the patients having to re-register with the new provider. The patient we spoke with described the dentist and staff as 'very good'. They informed us the dentist always explained what they were doing throughout the consultation. Patients who used the dental practice told us that they were very happy with the service provided. They felt they were given plenty of information about their treatment and it was always explained really well to them. We were told staff were very friendly and patients said they were always treated respectfully.

Patients who used the service understood the care, treatment and support choices available to them. They experienced effective, safe and appropriate care, treatment and support that meet their needs and protected their rights. The provider had effective systems in place that ensured patients were cared for in a clean and hygienic environment with an effective system to regularly assess and monitor the quality of service patients received. Patients were cared for by staff who were supported to deliver care and treatment safely and to an appropriate standard. The dentist and their team were aware of the need to protect vulnerable adults from abuse and had the necessary policy and procedures in place.
