Why we carried out this desktop review.
We carried out this focused desktop review on 26 July 2023 in line with our inspection priorities.
How we carried out the desktop review
This focused desktop review was carried out in a way which enabled us to conduct this review remotely without the need to visit the site.
This included:
- Requesting evidence from the provider in advance of our focused desktop review.
Our findings
We based our judgement of the quality of care at this service on a combination of:
- what we found when we reviewed requested information sent by the practice
- information from our ongoing monitoring of data about services
We found that:
- The practice had established systems and processes in place to ensure the timely recall of patients requiring cervical screening and childhood vaccinations.
- There had been a slight decline in the uptake of childhood vaccinations and cervical screening when compared with official vaccination and cervical screening data used at our last focused inspection.
- Unverified data provided by the practice, did not reference all childhood vaccination indicators to enable the inspection team to make comparisons with official data.
Whilst we found no breach of regulation, the provider should:
- Continue with efforts to improve the uptake of childhood immunisations and cervical screening.
Details of our findings and the evidence supporting our ratings are set out in the evidence tables.
