We assessed a total of 19 quality statements from the safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led key questions and found areas of good practice and concern. The scores for these areas have been combined with scores based on the key question ratings from the last inspection. Though the assessment of these 19 quality statements indicated areas of concern since the last inspection, our overall rating remains good. Date of assessment 7 to 25 January 2024. JHN Healthcare Ltd is a domiciliary care agency which provides support and personal care to people living in their own homes. Not everyone using JHN Healthcare Ltd received a regulated activity. CQC only inspects the service being received by people provided with 'personal care', that is help with tasks related to personal hygiene and eating. Where they do, we also take into account any wider social care provided. At the time of our inspection 51 people were receiving a regulated activity from the service. This assessment was completed following an increase in reported concerns about the service. Concerns included staff training, management of people's health and care needs, timings of care calls and response to concerns. We received feedback from 8 people who used the service, 10 relatives, 10 members of care staff, the registered manager who was also the provider, the compliance officer, the administrator and the field supervisor. We found the service remained Good but improvement was needed to ensure people’s rights were upheld under the Mental Capacity Act 2005 (MCA), to ensure records accurately reflected people and their needs and to demonstrate appropriate action had been taken in response to concerns or complaints. We identified two breaches of regulation relating to the need for consent and good governance.
