Condition of this registration relating to carrying out this regulated activity
The registered provider must ensure that PPE is being used correctly by staff, including to prevent and control the spread of the Covid-19 virus. In doing so, the registered provider must have due regard to current government guidance; notably, Public Health England publication “Personal protective equipment (PPE) – resource for care workers working in care homes during sustained COVID-19 transmission in England” (Published 17 April 2020- updated 2 November 2020 version 7) by 31 December 2020.
The registered provider must ensure staff have their competency in the use of PPE and COVID-19 Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) procedures designed to safeguard service users. The registered provider must confirm in writing to CQC what action has been taken to comply with the above condition by 31 December 2020.
The registered provider must undertake a review of all infection prevention and control procedures regarding COVID-19 at Acorn Manor Residential Home to ensure that this is in line with current Government guidance (Public Health England publication “Personal protective equipment (PPE) – resource for care workers working in care homes during sustained COVID-19 transmission in England” (Published 17 April 2020- updated 2 November 2020 version 7) to prevent the spread of Covid-19 and place service users at risk.
This must include a review of visiting procedures, admissions to the service, isolation of service users, staff training, testing, staff adhering to the consistent use of face masks and other PPE and cleaning. By 31 December 2020 the registered provider must submit a report to the Commission detailing what action has been taken/is to be taken as a result of this review. The report must set out any situations where current Government guidance is not being followed and the measures in place as a result, to prevent and control the spread of Covid-19.
Terms of this registration relating to carrying out this regulated activity
The registered provider must not provide nursing care under accommodation for persons who require nursing or personal care at Acorn Manor Residential Home.
The registered provider must only accommodate a maximum of 30 service users at Acorn Manor Residential Home.
