Our view of the service
We carried out this on-site announced assessment on 18 September 2024. We found the practice had met regulations. Recruitment procedures reflected current legislation and there was effective leadership and a culture of continuous improvement. Patients were treated with dignity and respect and at the time of our assessment, could access care, support and treatment when required. Patients’ care and treatment was provided in line with current guidance and infection control procedures were in place. The practice had systems to manage risks. This service is registered with CQC under the Health and Social Care Act 2008 in respect of some, but not all, of the services it provides. There are some exemptions from regulation by CQC which relate to particular types of regulated activities and services and these are set out in Schedule 1 and Schedule 2 of The Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2014. The service provides surgical and non-surgical cosmetic treatments, some of which are not in-scope of registration, such as certain facial aesthetics procedures. These out-of-scope services are not included in our assessment. Call Us Dental Spa is in Widnes and provides private dental care and treatment for adults and children. There was ramp access to the practice and car parking spaces were available near the practice. The practice had 3 dental surgeries and 1 facial aesthetics treatment room. During the assessment we spoke with 1 dentist, 1 dental nurse, the assistant practice manager and the practice manager.
People's experience of this service
On the day of our visit, we received feedback from 7 patients. Their responses and additional patient feedback we reviewed provided a positive view of the dental team and care provided by the practice. Patient comments included, “kindness and professionalism”, “reassuring” and “welcoming”. The practice shared patient feedback with the team. We were told this was reviewed and where suggestions had been made, appropriate action would be taken. Staff gathered feedback from patients, the public and external partners and demonstrated a commitment to acting on feedback. Patients commented positively about the standards of cleanliness.
