During a routine inspection
Everyone we spoke with who received a service was very positive about the care that they received and their experience of being in hospital. People told us, 'Its perfect here, absolutely marvellous'.
People said that they had consented to the care and treatment that they received. They felt involved and consulted in relation to all decisions made. Personal care needs were met in ways that people preferred. Records showed how care and treatment was assessed, planned and delivered.
Everyone we spoke with felt safe and well supported. People were protected because staff knew what constituted abuse and poor practice and were confident to recognise and report it.
Staff told us that they felt well supported and managers outlined improvements planned to this process. Training opportunities were varied although again staff recognised that these were improving. Staff told us that morale was good and that they all worked well as a team. People who received a service spoke highly of the staff that supported them.
.
The trust had a process for people to make compliments and raise concerns and complaints. We found that most people were not aware of this. Everyone said that they would be confident to share concerns or worries with staff or the ward manager.
