During an inspection in response to concerns
When we visited we found the hospital was clean and that the Trust had systems in place to audit and manage the cleanliness. We found that most records were being well maintained and that care was good. Patients told us they felt safe and well cared for. Visitors we spoke with told us that were satisfied with the levels of care.
We found that new systems were in place for managing stock control for example of sheets or pads. These were aimed at minimising waste. We saw that additional supplies could be obtained quickly. People told us the food was good and that they had regular fluids.
We found that there were enough staff, but that this came under pressure at times due to admissions and higher care needs of patients. Some staff training needed updating. The hospital had a new management team appointed since the last inspection. We saw they were working to implement the Trust's policies in a consistent way. We found that audits were being regularly carried out and work was underway to develop the staff teams, including team building and staff development.
We could not substantiate the concerns that had been raised with us.
