During a routine inspection
Comments from people who used the service included:
'Staff are magnificent, it's a good place.' 'Sometimes some people can get agitated but on the whole the place is calm and relaxed.'
We found that people's privacy and dignity were respected and that care and treatment was planned and delivered in a way that was intended to ensure people's safety and welfare. We also saw evidence that the provider worked in co-operation with others. People who used the service were protected from the risk of abuse because the provider had taken reasonable steps to identify the possibility of abuse and prevent abuse from happening.
There were enough qualified, skilled and experienced staff to meet people's needs. We saw that there were appropriate systems in place to monitor the quality of care that people received at the PICU and we were told that the manager was approachable and responded to comments and suggestions made by people who used the service and members of staff.
