During an assessment under our new approach

We carried out this announced on-site assessment on 11 December 2024. We found the practice had met regulations. There was effective leadership and a culture of continuous improvement. Patients were treated with dignity and respect and at the time of our assessment, could access care, support and treatment when required. Patients’ care and treatment was provided in line with current guidance and infection control procedures were in place. Recruitment procedures reflected current legislation. However, these were not always followed. The practice had systems to manage risks. We highlighted how these could be improved. The provider was open to our feedback and took immediate action. The practice is in Atherton, Manchester and provides NHS and private dental care and treatment for adults and children. There was a small step to access the practice and car parking spaces were available near the practice. The practice had 4 treatment rooms. At the time of assessment there were 14 members of staff. During the assessment we spoke with 3 dentists, 1 dental therapist, 2 receptionists, the practice manager (who is also a dental nurse) and the area manager.
