Requires improvement

Updated 14 February 2024

The Hollies surgery is located in Benfleet, Essex. It is a GP practice and provides a range of primary medical services. The GP practice is registered with the Care Quality Commission under the health and social Care Act 2008 to provide the following regulated activities; diagnostic and screening procedures, family planning, midwifery and maternity services, surgical procedures and treatment of disease, disorder or injury. We carried out an announced assessment of 9 quality statements, under the safe, effective, responsive and well-led key questions. We conducted a remote clinical inspection on 22 March 2024 which was led by a CQC assessor. An on site inspection visit was conducted on 25 March 2024, this was led by a CQC inspector who was supported by a GP specialist advisor, a nurse specialist advisor and a practice manager specialist advisor. We also requested some information from the practice which we reviewed remotely as part of this assessment. This assessment was carried out as a result of concerns identified in the safety and leadership of the practice. Overall, we found there was a lack of effective governance structures that ensured there was effective oversight and appropriate risk management systems in place. We rated the practice as requires improvement overall and found improvements were required to provide safe, effective and well-led care.
