We reviewed 1 quality statement for this key question in relation to how responsive the service was in meeting people's needs. We found the service encouraged people to have similar experiences to other people in the community. They supported them to go on holiday and attend social activities. Their health was monitored and records showed people had improving physical health.

Relatives told us their family members were able to experience life in the community, different activities, holidays and social events.

Staff understood people’s different communication styles and demonstrated a good understanding of how they assessed what people wanted to do. One staff member said, “I've worked across all the units, I might take people into different units to see their friends. I would say it is person centred here depending on people's needs, but there is a clear focus on equality. No one is left out.”

Care plans demonstrated staff supported people to take part in events and visit places of their choice. Clinical records showed where improvements had been made to a person’s physical health.
