Kindness, compassion and dignity
Patient feedback provided a positive view of the dental team and care provided by the practice. Patient comments included that staff were welcoming and attentive, acted with integrity, and showed compassion. Feedback received stated “I am super impressed with how the practice manages my daughter's appointments. She has autism and the team couldn't be more helpful and understanding about her additional needs. The receptionist books her at a time of day to suit her and we are booked in with the practice's children's dentist. On her first appointment we were taken straight through when we arrived and immediately put at ease. The nurse and dentist worked so well together. My experience exceeded all expectations”. Patients said staff were professional, courteous, and considerate. Patients felt they were treated as individuals and their personal and cultural needs were respected. Staff treated patients with kindness, respect and compassion. We observed multiple positive interactions between staff and patients both in person and on the telephone. Staff displayed an understanding of patients’ needs and showed warmth and compassion to all patients. People received care from staff who were aware of their responsibility to respect people’s diversity and human rights, and of the importance of privacy and confidentiality. Staff felt respected, valued and supported in their roles and their wellbeing was supported.
