Our view of the service
CN Healthcare Limited provides personal care to people living in their own home. At the time of our assessment 37 people were receiving a service. People received safe care which met their needs. Staff assessed people’s needs to identify how they needed and wanted to be supported. This included identifying any risks to their safety and how to minimise those risks. Processes were in place for the safe management of medicines and records were maintained of medicines administered. Body maps were used to record the administration of medicines, such as pain relief patches and topical creams. People felt involved in the development of their care and support plans. These plans identified people’s support needs and how this support was to be delivered. However, we found that some records did not contain sufficient information about all of people’s needs and preferences, such as in relation to their cultural heritage. Staff were aware of people’s preferences and, where possible, people were supported by staff of the same cultural heritage or who spoke the same language. The registered manager told us they would ensure that staff’s knowledge of people’s preferences was captured in people’s care records to ensure people received a holistic service.
