Our view of the service
We had previously undertaken a follow up focused inspection of The Boathouse Dental Surgery on 1 August 2024 under Section 60 of the Health and Social Care Act 2008 as part of our regulatory functions. We found the registered provider was not providing well-led care and was in breach of regulation 17 of the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2014. We undertook a follow up focused assessment on 30 October 2024. This assessment was carried out to review the actions taken by the registered provider to improve the quality of care and to confirm that the practice was now meeting legal requirements. The provider had made significant improvements which meant they had fully responded to a breach of regulation 17 (Good Governance) that we found at our inspection on 1 August 2024. The practice is in Goring and provides private dental care and treatment for adults, and private and NHS dental care and treatment for children. At the time of our assessment, the dental team included 4 dentists, 1 dental nurse, 3 student dental nurses, 2 dental hygienists and 2 receptionists. The practice had 3 treatment rooms. During the assessment we spoke with a dentist, compliance lead and a receptionist.
