Date of Assessment: 25 February 2025 to 4 March 2025. The service is a residential care home providing personal care to older people. We carried out this assessment due to concerns we had received about the service. We found the provider had begun to address the concerns and were taking action to put things right. Newly developed systems required reviewing and embedding to ensure they were effective. Medicines were not always managed safely. Risks associated with people’s care had been identified but not always documented clearly to ensure staff followed safe practice. The home was predominantly clean and well maintained. However, we identified some concerns during our assessment which were addressed in a timely way. Staff were recruited safely and felt supported by the management team. People had access to healthcare professionals. The service was in breach of legal regulation in relation to the ways people’s medicines were managed and governance at the service. We have also asked the provider for an action plan in response to some of the concerns found at this assessment.
