Date of assessment: 2 January 2025 to 7 February 2025. Valley View Court is a specialist care home which provides personal care to adults and older people. The care home accommodates people across 3 separate units, each of which has separate adapted facilities. The home included a gym area and space for health professionals who provided therapy to people regularly. The home is registered for up to 30 people, at the time of the assessment there were 24 people using the service. During the assessment we found the home had made improvements in medicine management, delivering support in line with the Mental Capacity Act (MCA 2005) and systems to record, assess, monitor and improve the home. The home was no longer in breach of regulation. The purpose of people’s stay at the home was clear in ensuring people made recovery or progress. There was a process in place to record accidents and incidents and these were appropriately investigated to prevent reoccurrence. There was a process in place to identify, manage and review risks. We found no issues with the environment which could pose a risk to people’s safety. Partner agencies working closely with the home felt appropriate referrals were not made to external professionals. We received mixed feedback from people, staff and health professionals about staffing levels at the service. We received mixed feedback about the team’s communication with external professionals.
