Well Led- This key question has been rated Good. This meant the service was consistently managed and well-led. Leaders and the culture they created promoted high-quality, person-centred care. The provider encouraged learning and innovation and promoted an open and fair culture. Systems were in place to ensure all aspects of the service were regularly audited and improvements made as required.

Shared direction and culture

The management team and staff told us how everyone worked together, to ensure people received good care that met their needs and preferences

We observed the management team to be passionate about the quality of the care provided. The management team knew people well and supported staff to promote good practice.

Capable, compassionate and inclusive leaders

The acting manager told us about the improvements they had made since they had been in post. The acting manager told us they involved staff and sought their ideas regarding improvements.

We observed the management team to be compassionate and caring about the people they supported. The management team were visible around the home on the day of our visit.

Freedom to speak up

A policy was in place to inform staff of how they could speak up. Staff were familiar with this and told us the actions they would take if they had any concerns.

The management team promoted an open-door approach to enable staff, people using the service and relatives to be at ease to come to the manager with any queries.

The acting manager told us of the systems in place to ensure all aspects of the service was regularly audited and how they had an ongoing action plan to drive improvements where needed.

The culture of the service was continuously reviewed by the management team who knew people well and were visible within the home to oversee the care provided.
